TERMINAL BUNDER GRESIK TAHUN 1997-2016

Abstract

under Bus Station is a relocation of Sidomoro Bus Station which is the main bus station in Gresik Regency. The
construction of Bunder Bus Station is a sign that Gresik Regency seriously wants to improve to prepare itself to become a city
in a mega urban area. The construction of transportation infrastructure such as Bunder Bus Station provides easy access and
mobility of residents to support their economic and social conditions.
Based on the background, three problem formulations were obtained in this study, namely: 1) Why was Sidomoro Bus
Station moved to Bunder Bus Station?; 2) How was the management of Bunder Bus Station during 1997-2016?; 3) What is
the economic, social, and cultural impact of Bunder Bus Station for the surrounding community? This research uses historical
research methods consisting of four stages, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography.
The results of this study show that the move of Sidomoro Bus Station to Bunder Bus Station is due to Sidomoro Bus
Station being in the center of Gresik City which is crowded and the bus station capacity is no longer able to accommodate
the existing volume of vehicles and passengers. In its management, the management of Bunder Bus Station is still not optimal
because there are still many shortcomings of existing services and facilities, so improvements need to be made. The existence
of Bunder Bus Station and the development of the Bunder area into an urban area have an impact on the surrounding
community in terms of economic, social, and cultural aspects.
