KARYA MUSIK FARIZ RM DALAM BELANTIKA MUSIK DI INDONESIA PADA TAHUN 1980-1990

Abstract

In the decade 1980-1990, the music industry in Indonesia experienced rapid development. A wide variety of musicians and musical genres adorn the industry. Fariz Roestam Moenaf or commonly known as Fariz RM, is a pop musician born in Jakarta 5, January 1959. Fariz RM, started his music career by participating in a youth creation competition (LCLR), after participating in the event, Fariz collaborated with senior musicians at that time and finally succeeded in releasing a music album, "Sakura", then made Fariz RM a popular musician in the decade 1980-1990. The purpose of this study is to discuss the background of Fariz RM's musical career, as well as the factors of the popularity of his music works and the impact of Fariz RM's fame. This research uses historical research methods, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study, Fariz RM has factors for the popularity of his musical works. Fariz RM has a quality of music that was not owned by musicians in the 1980s, he gave a new and fresh feel to the music world at that time, the lyrics of his songs also supported the music he made so that it became an added value for his musical works, Fariz was also involved with various collaborations, while this collaboration made him grow and also expand the range of his music, And the last thing that became a factor in his popularity was, stage performance, in every stage performance, he often performed a different performance. With his popularity he became famous, as for the impact of Fariz RM's fame. Fariz RM paved the way for the fusion music genre in Indonesia, Fariz is also an inspiration for young musicians, with his popularity making him a music icon of the 1980s, and he has a loyal fan base.
