IMPLEMENTASI KETOKOHAN GAYATRI RAJAPATNI TERHADAP TOKOH PUBLIK PEREMPUAN DI KABUPATEN TULUNGAGUNG

Abstract

Gayatri Rajapatni had a considerable influence on thought and influence in achieving the glory of the Majapahit kingdom. A female figure who was able to prove that the role of women could be equal to that of men in government. Gayatri brought her influence through the spirit of Unity in Diversity and the vision of unification of the archipelago. This study examines (1) How is the implementation of Gayatri's characterisation of female public figures in Tulungagung Regency. The research is descriptive qualitative in nature using historical research methods by collecting relevant data sources, conducting source criticism used to test the truth of the source, interpreting the source with the data obtained, and rewriting it using the historiography method in the form of factual and chronological descriptions. The results of this study explain the background of Gayatri Rajapatni who influenced Tulungagung Regency. Gayatri Rajapatni's influence on female public figures is analysed through the implementation of her values, namely nationalism, spiritualism, feminism, politics, learning ethos, and women becoming intellectual figures. The 30% representation of women in the government can be used as a turning point that women get equal opportunities in obtaining positions. Keywords: Gayatri Rajapatni, public figure, women
