PENGARUH FUTURE TIME PERSPECTIVE TERHADAP KEMATANGAN KARIR MAHASISWA TINGKAT AKHIR

Mahasiswa tingkat akhir adalah mereka yang termasuk dalam kategori dewasa awal serta memiliki kebutuhan untuk mendapatkan karir, mencari identitas, serta gaya hidup. Karir merupakan salah satu tahapan individu dalam menghadapi dunia kerja. Dalam proses mencari pekerjaan, perencanaan karir sangat diperlukan sehingga dibutuhkan motivasi mengenai pandangan terhadap masa depan agar terbentuk kematangan karir yang kuat. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh future time perspective terhadap kematangan karir mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Penelitian dilakukan pada 173 mahasiswa angkatan 2018 yang berasal dari empat jurusan fakultas X. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur adaptasi dari skala Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) dan The Future Time Perspective Scale (FTPS). Analisis regresi linier sederhana dipilih sebagai teknik analisa data dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari future time perspective terhadap kematangan karir mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Hasilnya menyatakan nilai sisgnifikansi sebesar 0.000 (p<0.05), sehingga dapat diartikan bahwa future time perspective memberikan pengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kematangan karir mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Hal ini dapat terjadi karena future time perspective mampu menjadi motivasi dalam diri mahasiswa sebagai usaha mencapai kematangan karir yang baik. Penelitian ini bermanfaat sebagai referensi bagi mahasiswa dalam mencapai kematangan karir serta dapat dijadikan acuan bagi peneliti selanjutnya.

Abstract

Final year students are those who fall into the category of early adulthood and have the need to find a career, seek identity, and lifestyle. Career is one of the individual stages in facing the world of work. In the process of looking for a job, career planning is needed so that motivation is needed regarding a view of the future in order to form a strong career maturity. This study aims to determine the effect of the future time perspective on the career maturity of final year students. The study was conducted on 173 students of class 2018 from four departments of faculty X. This study used an adaptation measurement tool from the Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) scale and The Future Time Perspective Scale (FTPS). Simple linear regression analysis was chosen as a data analysis technique with the aim of knowing the effect of the future time perspective on the career maturity of final year students. The results stated a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05), so it can be interpreted that the future time perspective has a significant influence on the career maturity of final year students. This can happen because the future time perspective can be a motivation in students as an effort to achieve good career maturity. This research is useful as a reference for students in achieving career maturity and can be used as a reference for further researchers.
