Abstract
This study aims to understand the relationship between work demands and work engagement on permanent employees of PT. X. The method that the researcher uses is quantitative which is analyzed by statistical calculations. The participants were 30 people using saturated sampling technique. The two-variable instrument is based on the theory of Bakker et al. (2008) and the theory of Schaufeli et al. (2006). Collecting data on two instruments using a Likert scale technique. Data analysis used product moment correlation which was tested using SPSS 25.0 to determine the relationship between two variables. The results of the analysis show a coefficient value of 0.800 (r = 0.800) and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that there is a negative relationship between work demands and work engagement. The higher the work demands, the lower the work engagement.
Keywords: job demands, work engagement, employee.
