HUBUNGAN ANTARA SELF-CONTROL DENGAN ACADEMIC DISHONESTY PADA JURUSAN X DI UNIVERSITAS NEGERI SURABAYA

Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan Self-Control dengan Academic Dishonesty pada mahasiswa jurusan X di Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian ini ialah 283 partisipan dengan Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh nonprobability sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner untuk Academic Dishonesty dengan menggunakan skala Academic Dishonesty (ADS) dan skala Self-Control dengan menggunakan skala yang diadaptasi dari The Brief Self-Control (BSCS). Teknik analisis data menggunakan korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Self-Control dengan Academic Dishonesty ditunjukkan dengan nilai signifikansi 0.000 dan nilai koefisien dari korelasi pearson product moment sebesar -0.296. Nilai korelasi ini menunjukkan kedua variabel memiliki tingkat keeratan yang lemah, hal ini dikarenakan terdapat faktor lain yang memiliki pengaruh yakni faktor eksternal terkait usia, gender dan budaya serta faktor internal terkait norma subjektif. Penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat untuk mengetahui kondisi mahasiswa terkait kecurangan akademik, faktor penyebab dan bagaimana baiknya untuk mengatasi hal tersebut.

Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and Academic Dishonesty among students majoring in X at the State University of Surabaya. This study uses quantitative research methods using a correlational design. The sample of this research was 283 participants with sampling technique using saturated non-probability sampling technique. Collecting data using a questionnaire for Academic Dishonesty using the Academic Dishonesty scale (ADS) and the self-control scale using a scale adapted from The Brief Self-Control (BSCS). The data analysis technique uses product moment correlation. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between self-control and Academic Dishonesty, indicated by a significance value of 0.000 and the coefficient value of the Pearson product moment correlation of -0.296. This correlation value shows that the two variables have a weak level of closeness, this is because there are other factors that have an influence, namely external factors related to age, gender and culture as well as internal factors related to subjective norms. This study can be useful to find out the condition of students related to academic dishonesty, the causative factors and how to overcome them.
