Abstract

Child marriage is a worrying issue, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The high number of child marriages has become a new problem, especially for residents of Kesambenkulon Village, Weringinanom District, Gresik. The presence of the KPS2K NGO with the role of Sekolah Perempuan brings fresh air to the residents of Kesambenkulon because it can help and awaken residents to build a gender-just society. This study aims to determine and analyze the role and efforts of the presence of Sekolah Perempuan in preventing child marriage in Kesambenkulon Village. This study uses a qualitative approach with a feminist perspective. The results of this study indicate that Sekolah Perempuan plays a major role in preventing child marriage in Kesambenkulon Village. The efforts include providing education to local residents, outreach to school students in collaboration with the Gresik government, participating in training and socialization from the local government and government agencies, as well as providing assistance to victims of pregnancy out of wedlock due to free sex and victims of sexual intercourse.
