Abstract

This study aims to explore further information about the adaptations made by small shop owners in Sepanjang Village in facing economic challenges after the COVID-19 pandemic. This study is a qualitative study using the interview method and using Bennet's adaptation strategy theory as the basis for the research. There are 6 research subjects who are small shop entrepreneurs in Sepanjang Village. This study highlights the economic and social strategies implemented by small shop traders in Sepanjang Village in facing post-pandemic challenges. Based on the results of the analysis of this study, it was found that small shop traders in Sepanjang Village implemented four main economic strategies: Product Diversification, Service Diversification, Online Optimization, and Income Diversification. In addition, this study also found two main social strategies: Expanding/Strengthening Connections and Maintaining/Building a Positive Image. Although these social strategies are not always well planned, they play an important role in social and economic adaptation.
