PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN TWO STAY TWO STRAY BERBASIS PROBLEM SOLVING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI PESERTA DIDIK
Abstract
High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), or higher-level thinking abilities, represent a way of thinking above average through understanding, drawing conclusions from information, and connecting it to other facts and concepts to obtain solutions or answers to needed questions. HOTS theory is based on Anderson and Krathwohl, namely C4r (Analyzing), C5r (Evaluating), and C6r (Creating). This research is motivated by the low higher-order thinking skills of students in history learning. To address this, a supportive learning model was implemented: the cooperative Two Stay Two Stray model using a scientific problem-solving approach. Respondents were selected via justified purposive sampling, specifically students from Class XI-3 at SMA Negeri 16 Surabaya. The study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data was collected through pretests, posttests, and student perception questionnaires, then analyzed using Paired Sample T-Test via SPSS. Results show a significant improvement between pretest and posttest scores, from an average of 68.57 to 78.86 with a significance of 0.000 (p<0.05). Student perceptions of the model were in the "very good" category, concluding that the Two Stay Two Stray model based on problem-solving positively influences higher-order thinking skills in history learning.
