Abstract
This study aims to see the impact of the Tiktok application on teenagers, especially those who are registered as Shopee affiliates. There are four subjects in this study which will be interviewed using a phenomenological approach. Based on the objectives and results of the analysis of the interviews that have been conducted, this study concludes that the Tiktok application has a positive and negative impact on teenagers who are members of Shopee affiliates. The positive impact is the broad reach of users and content, which is primarily helpful in daily life and can be a means of promotion according to what is currently viral. As for the negative impact, the Tiktok algorithm is not straightforward. There are hate comments, causing negative feelings. Self-control and staying away from problems are self-defense mechanisms that the four subjects do.
