Abstract
Quarter life crisis is a psychological condition commonly experienced by individuals aged between 18 and 25 years, particularly university students who are in the transitional phase toward adulthood. This study aims to explore the various factors that underlie the emergence of quarter life crisis among students. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews with five informants who had previously experienced such a crisis. The findings indicate that the quarter life crisis is influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include unmet expectations, self-doubt, and uncertainty about the future. On the other hand, external factors involve social pressure related to questions about graduation and employment, exposure to idealized lifestyles on social media, the fast-paced demands of modern life, and cultural expectations from family and peers. These pressures trigger anxiety, social comparison, and emotional instability. The study concludes that the quarter life crisis is a complex and multidimensional experience shaped by various aspects of a young adult's life. Understanding these factors is essential for promoting effective coping strategies and strengthening social support for students facing this stage.
