Rasionalitas Perceraian Mantan TKW di Kecamatan Mlarak Kabupaten Ponorogo

Abstract
Becoming a migrant worker is the last resort chosen by several people in the Mlarak District, Ponorogo Regency, to
meet their daily needs, their families and their children's educational epenses. This study aims to assess the economic status of
former migrant workers' households, identify the resources owned by former migrant workers and analyze the rationality of
divorces carried out by former migrant workers in Mlarak District. James Samuel Coleman's rational choice theory is the
theoretical for this research. The researcher highlights the problem with this theory where actors use various means to achieve their
goals, here the role of the actor is a migrant worker who is suing her partner for divorce. In this qualitative research, information
was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and relevant literature review. The results of the study stated
that, family financial matters take precedence over others when it comes to daily life at home. The decision of the women or wives
in Mlarak District, Ponorogo Regency to work as TKW abroad has a profitable purpose because of the pressing economic needs
and because it is easy for women workers to get jobs abroad with a sizable salary. The gains and losses in divorce have of course
been considered by the actor himself, namely the former migrant workers. The divorce lawsuits filed by the former migrant workers
were because their husbands were irresponsible, did not provide for their children, gambled and had affairs with other women.
This is a factor for the actors (former migrant workers) who are not too worried about having to separate from their husbands.

Abstrak
Menjadi TKW merupakan jalan terakhir yang dipilih beberapa masyarakat di Kecamatan Mlarak
Kabupaten Ponorogo untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya, keluarga dan biaya pendidikan anak-anaknya.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai status ekonomi rumah tangga mantan pekerja migran, mengidentifikasi
sumber daya mantan TKW, dan menganalisis rasionalitas perceraian yang dilakukan para mantan TKW di
Kecamatan Mlarak. Teori pilihan rasional James Samuel Coleman yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini.
Peneliti menyoroti masalah tentang teori tersebut di mana aktor menggunakan berbagai cara untuk mencapai
tujuannya, di sini yang berperan sebagai aktor adalah TKW yang menggugat cerai pasangannya. Dalam
penelitian kualitatif ini, informasi dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan kajian
pustaka yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa, masalah keuangan keluarga lebih diutamakan dari
pada yang lain dalam hal kehidupan sehari-hari di rumah. Keputusan para perempuan atau para istri di
Kecamatan Mlarak Kabupaten Ponorogo untuk bekerja menjadi TKW di luar negeri memiliki tujuan yang
menguntungkan karena keterdesakan kebutuhan ekonomi dan karena tenaga perempuan mudah mendapat
pekerjaan di luar negeri dengan gaji yang lumayan besar. Untung dan rugi dalam perceraian tentu sudah
dipertimbangkan oleh sang aktor sendiri yakni para mantan TKW. Gugatan cerai yang dilakukan oleh para
mantan TKW tersebut karena suami sudah tidak bertanggung jawab, tidak memberi nafkah kepada anakanaknya, berjudi dan berselingkuh dengan wanita lain. Hal itulah yang menjadi faktor bagi aktor (mantan
TKW) tidak terlalu khawatir harus berpisah dengan suaminya.
