Pengaruh Intensitas Penggunaan Media Sosial terhadap Intensitas Hubungan Sosial Keluarga di Desa Tempeh Tengah, Kecamatan Tempeh, Kabupaten Lumajang

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media usage intensity on the intensity of family social relationships in Tempeh Tengah Village, Tempeh District, Lumajang Regency. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a survey method with 96 respondents selected via the Slovin formula. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and subsequently analyzed through simple linear regression using IBM SPSS. The results indicate that the intensity of social media usage falls into the moderate category (mean = 3.01), whereas the intensity of family social relationships falls into the high category (mean = 3.41). Regression analysis reveals that the intensity of social media usage has a positive and significant effect on the intensity of family social relationships (t = 3.558; Sig. = 0.001 < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.119 indicates that social media usage intensity contributes 11.9% to family social relationships, while the remaining 88.1% is influenced by factors outside the scope of this study. These findings suggest that proportionate social media usage can support communication and social relationships within the family.
