PERBEDAAN KECEMASAN AKADEMIK PADA MAHASISWA BARU JURUSAN PSIKOLOGI DITINJAU DARI JENIS KELAMIN

Abstrak
Kecemasan akademik menunjukkan gejala seperti adanya perasaan tertekan, takut, stress, khawatir, dan tidak tenang. Kecemasan akademik dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya adalah jenis kelamin. Jenis kelamin juga dapat menunjukkan perbedaan tingkat akademik yang dialami oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan kecemasan akademik pada mahasiswa baru ditinjau dari jenis kelamin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan melibatkan sampel jenuh terhadap 156 mahasiswa baru Psikologi Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampel jenuh. Sejumlah 30 mahasiswa digunakan untuk tryout, dan sisanya 124 mahasiswa aktif yang mengisi kuesioner digunakan untuk penelitian. Instrument penelitian menggunakan skala kecemasan akademik. Analisis data menggunakan uji T independent, diperoleh hasil nilai p0.001<0.05 yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan kecemasan akademik antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan.

Abstract
Academic anxiety shows symptoms such as feelings of depression, fear, stress, worry, and restlessness. Academic anxiety is influenced by several factors, one of which is gender. Gender can also indicate differences in the academic level experienced by students. This study was conducted with the aim of knowing whether there are differences in academic anxiety in new students in terms of gender. This study uses a quantitative method involving a saturated sample of 156 new students of Psychology, State University of Surabaya. Sampling was done by using a saturated sample technique. A total of 30 students were used for the tryout, and the remaining 124 active students who filled out the questionnaire were used for research. The research instrument used an academic anxiety scale. Data analysis using independent t-test, the results obtained p 0.001 <0.05 which indicates there is a difference in academic anxiety between male and female students.
