Abstract
The Covid-19 problem is one of the problems that has a direct impact on the community, especially for high school students who take online learning from home. The existence of regulations regarding academic activities can make students experience anxiety and even feel worried and afraid of something related to academic activities. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety in high school (SMA) students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach method. The population in this study involved 238 students who were obtained using a purposive sampling technique with a sampling technique based on the researcher's considerations. A total of 30 students were used for the tryout, and the remaining 130 active students consisting of 38 male students and 92 female students with an age range of 15-18 years, were willing to fill out a questionnaire for research needs. The instrument used was a self-efficacy scale based on Bandura's (1997) theory development and an academic anxiety scale based on Calhoun & Acocella's (1995) theory development. The data analysis technique used is the product moment correlation test with the help of SPSS 25.0 software for windows. The results showed that there was a negative relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety, with a Pearson correlation value of -724. The meaning of the results of this study is that the higher the level of self-efficacy, the lower the academic anxiety. On the other hand, if the level of self-efficacy is low, the academic anxiety will be higher. The results of this study were obtained because they had the same academic task and interacted with each other.
