KEPUASAN HIDUP MANULA YANG TERLANTAR

Lanjut usia rentang mengalami permasalahan yang berasal dari keluarga melakukan pengabaian penelantaran yang pada akhirnya memutuskan untuk tinggal di panti sosial. Perubahan yang dialami lansia akan mengakibatkan permasalahan psikologis. Fenomena pengabaian lansia ini sering terjadi di kalangan masyarakat. Berdasarkan hal tersebut tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran kepuasan hidup manula yang tidak tinggal dengan keluarga. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara semiterstruktur. Berdasarkan analisis data yang diperoleh dari tiga responden berusia lebih dari  60 tahun dan tinggal di Griya Werdha Surabaya, ditemukan bahwa kehidupan masa lalu, masa sekarang dan harapan masa depan menentukan kepuasan hidup lansia. Kehidupan masa lalu yang mencakup pencapaian, pengalaman pekerjaan, pernikahan, hubungan keluarga dan hubungan pertemanan. Kehidupan saat ini yaitu responden tinggal di panti sosial dengan kegiatan panti, pelayanan panti dan hubungan antar penghuni serta petugas. Harapan masa depan responden menginginkan hidup dengan layak dan memiliki umur panjang. Kepuasan hidup responden memunculkan emosi negatif dan positif serta cara mengatasi permasalahan dengan coping strategi.

Abstract

Elderly are very vulnerable can cause problems comes from the family neglect and elderly who live in the retirement home. Changes experienced by the elderly will lead to psychological problems. This phenomenon of neglect of the elderly often occurs in society, therefore one of the important roles for the elderly is life satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine life satisfaction elderly from that are not one's own home. The approach in this qualitative research is a case study. . The respondent of this study amounted to 3 neglected elderly people, who are more than 60 years old woman and male, and live in the Griya Werdha Surabaya. The results of this study found that past life, present and future expectations determine the life satisfaction of the elderly. Past life that includes accomplishments, work experiences, marriage, family relationship and friendships. Present condition namely the respondent lives in a social institution with retirement home activities and the relationship among the elderly and officers. Future expectations of respondents want to live decently and have a long life. Respondents' life satisfaction raises negative and positive emotions and they overcome their problems by the coping strategies.
