PENGALAMAN PENYESUAIAN DIRI BAGI SANTRI BARU DI LINGKUNGAN PESANTREN X : STUDI FENOMENOLOGI

Abstrak
Pondok pesantren memiliki beberapa ciri yang berbeda dari lembaga pendidikan pada umunya. Salah satu cirinya yaitu adalah para santri menetap di dalam lingkup pesantren. Hal ini tentu berdampak pada perubahan perilaku para santri saat di rumah. Dengan menetapnya santri di lingkungan pesantren, maka dibutuhkan kemampuan penyesuaian diri. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengalaman dan proses penyesuaian diri santri baru dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif agar dapat mengetahui persepsi partisipan. Data wawancara dikumpulkan menggunakan in-dept interview dan dianalisis menggunakan interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). Penelitian yang telah dilakukan mengidentifikasikan bahwa terdapat tiga tema utama yaitu : Pengalaman penyesuaian diri, kesulitan penyesuaian diri dan strategi penyesuaian diri. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa partisipan merasakan beberapa hambatan untuk dapat menyesuaikan diri dengan peraturan-peraturan yang ada, berinteraksi sosial dengan teman serta kendala bahasa dan kedisiplinan. Beberapa strategi partisipan yang dapat dikategorikan adalah : berupaya untuk mengatur pikiran, emosi dan perilaku (self-control) serta menghadapi masalah secara aktif (active coping).

Abstract
Islamic boarding schools have several different characteristics from educational institutions in general. One of the characteristics is that the students stay within the scope of the pesantren. This certainly has an impact on changing the behavior of the students at home. By settling the santri in the pesantren environment, the ability to adapt is needed. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the experience and adjustment process of new students with a phenomenological approach. The method used is qualitative in order to know the participants' perceptions. Interview data were collected using in-dept interviews and analyzed using interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA). Research that has been conducted has identified that there are three main themes, namely: experience of adjustment, difficulty of adjustment and adjustment strategy. The results of this study indicate that participants feel some obstacles to be able to adjust to existing regulations, interact socially with friends as well as language and discipline barriers. Some of the participant strategies that can be categorized are: trying to regulate thoughts, emotions and behavior (self-control) and face problems actively (active coping).
