STUDI KASUS: KELELAHAN (BURNOUT) AKADEMIK PADA SISWA KELAS XII PASCA KEMATIAN ORANGTUA

Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat secara mendalam bagaimana penyebab, dampak, dan coping dalam kelelahan (burnout) akademik yang terjadi pada siswa kelas XII pasca kematian orangtua. Penelitian ini dirasa penting, dikarenakan banyak ditemui fenomena kelelahan akademik pada siswa kelas XII pada saat pandemi Covid-19 dua tahun belakang, selain itu terdapat berbagai aspek yang menjadi pemicu timbulnya burnout pada siswa, sehingga penelitian ini dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih terkait bagaiaman kelelahan (burnout) akademik bisa terjadi pada siswa kelas XII. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 2 orang yang memiliki kriteria yang sesuai yang telah ditetapkan oleh penulis yaitu siswa SMA kelas XII yang sedang mengalami burnout akademik, dengan masing-masing subjek penelitian memiliki satu orang significant other. Data yang didapat pada penelitian ini kemudian dikumpulkan dengan wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan pedoman wawancara yang telah disiapkan oleh peneliti. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu dengan pengelompokan data serta mengurutkan data yang telah didapat. Penelitian menghasilkan empat tema utama; 1) Latar belakang terjadinya burnout, dimana salah satu penyebabnya yaitu beban pendidikan yang meningkan, penyesuaian diri terhadap Covid-19 serta adanya kematian orangtua. 2) Dampak kematian orang tua, kematian orangtua menajadi salah satu momen traumatis yang dialami siswa. 3) Dampak burnout, membuat siswa kehilangan minat terhadap banyak hal, mengalami penurunan prestasi, menjadi emosional dll. 4) copyng strategi atau penanganan¬ burnout, mencari kesibukan lain serta dukungan sosial menjadi salah satu cara dalam menangani burnout yang terjadi pada siswa.

Abstract
This research aims to look in-depth at the causes, impacts, and coping with academic burnout in class XII students after the death of their parents. This research is considered necessary because there are many phenomena of academic fatigue found in class XII students during the Covid-19 pandemic two years ago; besides that, there are various aspects that trigger the emergence of burnout in students, so that this research can provide more insight related to fatigue. Academic burnout can occur in class XII students. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method using a case study approach. The subjects used in this study amounted to 2 people with the appropriate criteria set by the author, namely class XII high school students who were experiencing academic burnout, with each research subject having one significant other. The data obtained in this study were then collected by semi-structured interviews with interview guidelines prepared by the researcher. The data analysis technique used is by grouping the data and sorting the data that has been obtained. The research resulted in four main themes; 1) The background of burnout, where one of the causes is the increased educational burden, adjustment to Covid-19, and parents' death. 2) The impact of parental death, parental death is one of the traumatic moments experienced by students. 3) The impact of burnout, making students lose interest in many things, experience a decrease in achievement, become emotional, etc. 4) copying strategies or handling burnout, looking for other activities and social support is one way to deal with burnout in students.
