Gambaran Celebrity Worship pada Penggemar K-Pop Usia Remaja

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya fenomena celebrity worship di kalangan remaja seiring dengan pesatnya popularitas K-pop sebagai bagian dari Korean Wave global. Pada masa remaja, keterikatan terhadap figur publik berpotensi memengaruhi perkembangan identitas, regulasi emosi, dan aktivitas keseharian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan bentuk celebrity worship pada penggemar K-pop usia remaja serta memahami pengalaman subjektif mereka dalam mengidolakan selebriti. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Partisipan terdiri dari empat remaja perempuan berusia 15–16 tahun yang merupakan siswa SMA dan penggemar K-pop. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara tatap muka terstruktur dan dianalisis menggunakan model analisis Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa celebrity worship pada partisipan didominasi oleh dimensi entertainment social dan intense personal, sementara indikasi borderline pathological tidak ditemukan secara signifikan. Partisipan memaknai k-pop sebagai sumber hiburan, motivasi, dan dukungan emosional, serta menunjukkan kontrol diri yang baik dalam membatasi pengidolaan agar tidak mengganggu fungsi akademik dan sosial. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa celebrity worship pada remaja penggemar K-pop dapat bersifat adaptif apabila disertai dengan kesadaran batasan dan regulasi diri yang memadai.
Abstract
This study was motivated by the increasing phenomenon of celebrity worship among adolescents alongside the growing global popularity of K-Pop as part of the Korean Wave. During adolescence, emotional attachment to public figures may influence identity development, emotional regulation, and daily activities. This study aimed to describe celebrity worship among adolescent K-Pop fans and explore their subjective experiences of idolizing celebrities.
