PARTISIPASI KELOMPOK PELINDUNG HUTAN DAN PELESTARI MATA AIR (KEPUH) DALAM MENUMBUHKAN KARAKTER PEDULI LINGKUNGAN DI DUSUN MENDIRO DESA PANGLUNGAN KECAMATAN WONOSALAM KABUPATEN JOMBANG

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan partisipasi yang dilakukan dan motivasi Kelompok Pelindung Hutan dan Pelestari Mata Air dalam menumbuhkan karakter peduli lingkungan di Dusun Mendiro. Penelitian ini menggunakan landasan teori partisipasi Cohen dan Uphoff. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan data antara lain wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian ini sebanyak tiga orang meliputi ketua, sekretaris dan bendahara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan upaya partisipasi yang dilakukan antara lain: (1) Pelaksanaan kegiatan pembiasaan membuang sampah pada tempatnya; (2) Kegiatan patroli; (3) Membuat slogan; (4) Perawatan sumber mata air; dan (5) Penanaman pohon. Motivasi kelompok ini adalah karena ingin menciptakan lingkungan yang baik serta dapat memberikan penghasilan yang lebih banyak bagi anggota maupun masyarakat. Hasil akhir yaitu kegiatan yang dilakukan telah dapat menghasilkan masyarakat yang peduli terhadap lingkungan dengan bukti hutan yang dulu gundul telah tumbuh pohon sekitar lima sampai enam meter serta di tempat sumber mata air telah terpasang sebuah dinding yang berguna yang memudahkan air untuk mengalir ke pipa yang mengalir ke rumah warga serta jalan akses menuju Dusun Mendiro telah dibangun jalan cor yang memudahkan masyarakat untuk ke Dusun tersebut.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the participation and motivation of the Forest and Water Spring Protection Group (Kepuh) in Growing Concern of The Environment Character in Mendiro Hamlet. This research uses the theorical basic of Cohen’s and Uphoff’s participation. The approach used was qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques include interview, observation and documentation. The informants of this study were three people including the chairman, secretary and treasure. The research results show that the participation are include: (1) The implementation of throwing garbage in its place; (2) Patrol activitiy; (3) Make a slogan; (4) The caring of spring; and (5) Planting trees. The motivation of this group is they want to create a good environment and can provide more income for members and the community. The final result, the activities was carried out have been able to produce people who care about the environment with evidence that the forest has grown from around five to six meters and where the source of the spring has installed a wall that is useful for facilitating water to flow into the pipes that flow into people’s homes and the access road to Mendiro Hamlet has been built a cast road which makes it easier for people to go to the Hamlet.
