Publication Ethics

Kajian Moral dan Kewarganegaraan (KMKn) is committed to integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly publishing, guided by the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, originality, and relevance, irrespective of authors' identities, backgrounds, or institutional affiliations.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure the originality of their manuscripts, accuracy of data, appropriate attribution of sources, legitimate authorship, and approval by all co-authors. Funding sources, competing interests, and applicable research ethics approvals must be disclosed. Plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, and simultaneous submission to another journal are prohibited.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors make publication decisions based on scholarly quality, relevance to the journal's scope, and peer-review reports. They must maintain manuscript confidentiality, manage competing interests, ensure fair treatment, and uphold editorial independence.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, evidence-based assessments while maintaining confidentiality. They must disclose competing interests, decline assignments beyond their expertise, and report suspected plagiarism, duplication, or other scientific or ethical concerns identified during review.

Misconduct, Complaints, and Appeals

Allegations of misconduct, complaints, and appeals against editorial decisions may be submitted to the editors through the journal's official contact channels. Each case is assessed fairly and documented, with relevant parties given an opportunity to respond and available evidence duly considered.

Corrections and Retractions

When errors or integrity concerns arise after publication, KMKn may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction according to the nature of the issue and available evidence. Notices are published transparently and linked to the original article to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
