Budaya Menonton Film Pada Remaja Putri Di Kota Surabaya

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi praktik menonton film di bioskop oleh remaja putri di Kota Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan perspektif teori etnometodologi Pierre Bourdieu. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dalam menonton film seorang remaja putri memerlukan modal ekonomi yang bersumber dari pekerjaan orang tua, uang saku yang diperoleh, dan pemilihan bioskop. Kemudian, modal sosial yang dimiliki remaja putri dalam menonton film ditentukan melalui status sekolah dan tingkat popularitas sekolah tersebut, serta pemilihan tempat untuk meluangkan waktu atau berkumpul bersama teman. Dalam praktik menonton film modal budaya terbentuk dari sosialisasi yang dilakukan secara terus-menerus tanpa sadar oleh pihak keluarga. Pengklasifikasian gedung bioskop tersebut bertujuan agar hiburan menonton film di bioskop dapat dirasakan oleh remaja dari berbagai golongan masyarakat, dan untuk menujukkan di posisi kelas mana seorang remaja tersebut berada.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the practice of watching movies in cinemas by young women in Surabaya. This research uses a qualitative approach with the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu etnomethodology theory. This study found that in watching a movie a young woman needs economic capital that comes from the work of parents, pocket money earned, and the selection of cinema. Then, the social capital that girls have in watching movies is determined through the schools status and the schools popularity level, as well as the choice of places to spend time or get together with friends. In the practice of watching the film culture capital is formed from the socialization that is done continuously unknowingly by the family. The classification of the cinema is aimed at watching the movies in the cinema can be felt by teenagers from various community groups, and to show in which class position a teenager is located.
