Abstract
This research aims to find out how the relationship between self-efficacy and student engagement in SMP X class VIII during the covid-19 pandemic. The research method uses the quantitative method with correlation approach. The population in this study was 224 students with 30 students used for tryout and 144 student used for data collection. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The reseach instrument that is used is the student engagement scale which based on Fredricks (2004) aspect and the self-efficacy scale adopted from Zahidah's research (2020). Data analysis was performed using SPSS 25.0 for windows statistics program assistance. The results of the analysis using the correlation produst moment technique showed that there is correlation between self-efficacy and student engagement with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.806. Based on this explanation, it can be concluded that the higher the self-efficacy of students, the higher the student engagement they have.
