Peer Review

All manuscripts submitted to Kajian Moral dan Kewarganegaraan (KMKn) undergo initial editorial screening for relevance to the journal's scope, originality, scholarly contribution, manuscript and metadata completeness, and compliance with submission guidelines and publication ethics. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors or rejected before peer review.

Manuscripts that pass initial screening are independently evaluated by two reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviews assess originality, methodological soundness, analytical quality, the relevance of references, clarity of presentation, and scholarly significance. The review process upholds objectivity, confidentiality, and research integrity.

Editorial Workflow

  1. Editorial Screening: Assessment of scope, preliminary academic quality, completeness, and compliance with journal guidelines.

  2. Research Integrity Screening: Assessment of originality, manuscript similarity using Turnitin, and potential breaches of publication ethics.

  3. Peer Review: Independent scholarly evaluation by two reviewers with relevant expertise.

  4. Editorial Decision and Revision: An editorial decision informed by reviewers' reports, followed by revisions and reassessment where necessary.

  5. Production and Publication: Copyediting, typesetting, proofreading, metadata verification, and publication after acceptance.

Editorial Decisions and Revisions

Editorial decisions may be acceptance without revision, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. The editor makes the final decision based on reviewers' recommendations, scholarly merit, and journal policies.

Authors invited to revise must submit a revised manuscript with a point-by-point response to the reviewers' and editor's comments. Revisions must be submitted within eight weeks of the decision notification. Requests for an extension may be submitted to the editor for consideration.

An invitation to revise does not guarantee acceptance. Articles are published only after meeting KMKn's scholarly and editorial standards.
