Identifikasi Tingkat Berpikir Kreatif Siswa dalam Memecahkan Masalah Open-Ended ditinjau dari Gaya Berpikir Sternberg

Dalam era globalisasi saat ini keterampilan berpikir sangat diperlukan oleh siswa untuk menghadapi persaingan dan tantangan masa depan. Salah satu keterampilan berpikir yang perlu dimiliki siswa untuk menghadapi persaingan tersebut yaitu berpikir kreatif. Berpikir kreatif merujuk pada kemampuan untuk menghasilkan solusi bervariasi yang bersifat baru terhadap masalah matematika. Untuk menilai kemampuan berpikir kreatif dapat dilihat dari sebuah pemecahan masalah, salah satunya dengan menggunakan masalah open-ended. Masalah open-ended menuntut siswa untuk menemukan lebih dari satu jawaban dan cara yang benar untuk menyelesaikannya. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif juga berhubungan erat dengan gaya berpikir. Pada penelitian ini kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa akan ditinjau dari gaya berpikir Sternberg menurut fungsinya. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat berpikir kreatif siswa dalam memecahkan masalah open ended ditinjau dari gaya berpikir Sternberg. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga siswa kelas VIII MTsN 1 Pasuruan Kota Pasuruan. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode tes dan metode wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis berdasarkan tiga indikator berpikir kreatif yaitu kefasihan, fleksibilitas, dan kebaruan. Peneliti mengelompokkan tiga siswa berdasarkan tingkat berpikir kreatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa dengan gaya berpikir legislatif memenuhi indikator berpikir kreatif kefasihan, keluwesan, dan kebaruan. Sehingga berdasarkan tingkat berpikir kreatif, siswa dengan gaya berpikir legislatif termasuk dalam kategori TKBK 4 yaitu sangat kreatif. Siswa dengan gaya berpikir eksekutif dan judisil memenuhi indikator berpikir kreatif kefasihan dan kebaruan. Sehingga berdasarkan tingkat berpikir kreatif, siswa dengan gaya berpikir eksekutif dan judisil termasuk dalam kategori TKBK 3 yaitu kreatif.

Abstract

In this globalization era, thinking skill is very important for students in overcoming future competition and challenges. One of thinking skills that students should have is creative thinking. Creative thinking is the ability to generate a new various solutions toward problem in mathematics. It can be assessed from the problem solving used such as open-ended problem. Open-ended problem requires students to find more than one answer and a correct way to solve it where creative thinking is required in it. Furthermore, creative thinking skill is closely related with thinking style. In this research, students’ creative thinking skill will be analyzed by using Sternberg thinking style according to the functions that are legislative, executive, and judicial. The purpose of this research is to describe creative thinking level of students in solving open ended problem through Sternberg thinking style. This research is using qualitative descriptive research method. The subjects of this research are two students from grade VIII of MTsN 1 Pasuruan Kota Pasuruan. The data of this research is collected by using test and interview. The data obtained will be analyzed based on the three indicators of creative thinking such as fluency, flexibility and novelty. After that, the researcher will classify those three students based on the creative thinking level. The result of the research shows that students with legislative thinking style fulfill the creative thinking indicators in fluency, flexibility and novelty. Based on the creative thinking level, we can conclude that students with legislative thinking style include in the category of TKBK 4 which is very creative. Differ from the legislative one, students with executive and judicial thinking style only fulfill two creative thinking indicators that are fluency and novelty. Hence, students with executive and judicial thinking style include in the category of TKBK 3 which is creative.
