Uji Efektifitas Ekstrak Etanol 70% Herba Pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) Sebagai Peningkat Nafsu Makan Secara in vivo Effectiveness Test of 70% Ethanol Extract of Gotu Kola Herb (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) as an Appetite Stimulant in vivo

Abstrak
Herba pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) dikenal mengandung senyawa bioaktif seperti triterpenoid, flavonoid, dan fenolik yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan sekaligus diduga dapat meningkatkan nafsu makan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas antioksidan serta efektivitas ekstrak etanol 70% herba pegagan sebagai penambah nafsu makan secara in vivo. Ekstraksi dilakukan menggunakan metode Microwave-Assisted Extraction (MAE). Aktivitas antioksidan diuji dengan metode DPPH pada panjang gelombang maksimum 517 nm. Uji in vivo dilakukan pada mencit jantan BALB/c yang dibagi menjadi empat kelompok (kontrol, 100 mg/kg BB, 200 mg/kg BB, dan 400 mg/kg BB). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC₅₀ sebesar 50,16 ± 3,24 ppm dengan kategori sedang, lebih lemah dibanding vitamin C (8,15 ± 0,72 ppm). Uji nafsu makan menunjukkan peningkatan konsumsi pakan pada dosis 200 mg/kg BB (3,25 ± 0,36 g) dan 400 mg/kg BB (3,88 ± 0,44 g) dibanding kontrol (2,34 ± 0,43 g). Dengan demikian, ekstrak etanol 70% herba pegagan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan moderat dan berpotensi meningkatkan nafsu makan pada dosis tertentu.
