Hubungan antara Perilaku Prososial dengan Psychological Well-Being pada Mahasiswa Psikologi

Mahasiswa cenderung menghadapi tingkat tekanan psikologis yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan populasi orang dewasa secara umum. Tuntutan akademik, tekanan sosial, dan pencarian jati diri seringkali menjadi faktor yang memperburuk kondisi psikologis mereka. Dalam konteks ini, psychological well-being menjadi salah satu indikator penting dalam menilai kualitas hidup mahasiswa. Salah satu faktor yang diduga dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis adalah perilaku prososial, yaitu tindakan sukarela untuk membantu orang lain tanpa mengharapkan imbalan. Perilaku ini diyakini mampu meningkatkan perasaan bermakna, keterhubungan sosial, dan kepuasan hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perilaku prososial dengan psychological well-being pada mahasiswa psikologi yang tergabung dalam Organisasi X. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 203 mahasiswa. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara perilaku prososial dan psychological well-being (r = 0,546; p < 0,05) dengan kekuatan korelasi sedang. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi perilaku prososial, semakin tinggi pula kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa.
Abstract
University students tend to face higher levels of psychological pressure compared to the general adult population. Academic demands, social pressures, and the search for identity often exacerbate their psychological challenges. In this context, psychological well-being becomes an important indicator for assessing students’ quality of life. One factor that is believed to contribute to improved psychological well-being is prosocial behavior, voluntary actions intended to help others without expecting anything in return. This behavior is thought to enhance a sense of meaning, social connectedness, and life satisfaction. This study aims to examine the relationship between prosocial behavior and psychological well-being among psychology students who are members of Organization X. A quantitative correlational approach was used with 203 student respondents. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation technique. The findings show a significant positive relationship between prosocial behavior and psychological well-being (r = 0.546; p < 0.05), with a moderate correlation strength. These findings suggest that the higher the level of prosocial behavior, the higher the psychological well-being of the students.
