Program intervensi "Pathway to Success" selama 12 minggu dirancang sebagai respon komprehensif.
Abstract
Career decision-making difficulties are psychological barriers commonly experienced by tenth-grade high school students when selecting academic tracks that directly affect their higher education and acreer paths. This study describes career decision-making diffculties in a high school student and designs a career guidance intervention based on Holland’s typology and Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT). A qualitative approach with a case study design was applied to a 15 year old male student (BLC) referred by the school counselor due to difficulties in choosing between the Natural Sciences and Social Sciences tracks. Data were collected through observations, auto- and allo-anamnesis interviews, and psychological dynamic analysis. BLC exhibited an Artistic-Social personality profile per Holland’s typology, was in moratorium identity status, and experienced lack of readiness, lack of information, and inconsistent information (Gati et al., 1996). Key contributing factors included low self-efficacy in exact sciences, peer pressure, limited emotional support from living away from family. A 12-week "Pathway to Success" intervention program was designed as a comprehensive response. The career decision-making difficulties relflect a developmentally normal vocational identity exploration process that requires targeted intervention to facilitate healty career crystallization.
