PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN ION LOGAM K + TERHADAP AKTIVITAS ENZIM PAPAIN (THE ADDITION EFFECT OF THE METAL ION K+ ON THE PAPAIN ENZYME ACTIVITIES)

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penambahan ion logam K+
terhadap aktivitas enzim papain. Penentuan pengaruh penambahan ion logam dilakukan dengan
mengukur aktivitas enzim tanpa penambahan ion logam K+ (0 mM) dan aktivitas enzim setelah
ditambah ion logam K+ dengan variasi konsentrasi 0,5 mM, 1 mM, 1,5 mM dan 2 mM. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ion logam K+ dapat meningkatkan aktivitas enzim papain dimana
konsentrasi optimum pada konsentrasi 1 mM dengan aktivitas sebesar 1,977 unit/mL. Pada
konsentrasi 0, 5 mM, 1,5 dan 2 mM masing-masing dapat meningkatkan aktivitas enzim papain
sebesar 1,131unit/mL, 1,552 unit/mL dan 1,043 unit/mL.

Abstract. This study aimed to describe the effect of the addition of metal ion K+ to papain enzyme
activity. Determination of the effect of the addition of metal ion is done by measuring the enzyme
activity without the addition of metal ion K+ (0 mM) and enzyme activity after addition of metal
ion with a variety of K+concentration of 0.5 mM, 1 mM, 1.5 mM and 2 mM. The results showed
that the metal ions K+ can increase the activity of the enzyme papain which the optimum
concentration at a concentration of 1 mM to the activity of 1,977 units /mL. At concentrations of
0, 5 mM, 1.5 and 2 mM each of which can increase the activity of the enzyme papain 1,131 units
/ mL, 1,552units /mL and 1,043 units /mL.
