PENGARUH VARIASI POLYVINYL ALCOHOL (PVA) TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK MEMBRAN KITOSAN TERMODIFIKASI SEBAGAI SLOW-RELEASE FERTILIZER (SRF) PUPUK NPK

Abstrak
Penggunaan pupuk NPK konvensional dalam sektor pertanian memiliki efisiensi yang rendah pada penyerapan unsur hara oleh tanaman akibat proses volatilisasi, nitrifikasi, dan leaching. Untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut maka dapat dikembangkan pupuk NPK dengan pelepasan unsur hara secara terkontrol atau Slow-Release Fertilizer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi penambahan Polivinyl Alcohol (PVA) terhadap karakteristik membran pada pupuk SRF untuk meningkatkan efisiensi penyerapan unsur hara pada tanaman. Metode yang digunakan dalam yaitu metode casting, larutan membran akan dituangkan ke dalam cawan petri dan pelarut nya akan diuapkan sehingga dapat dihasilkan membran SRF kering. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin banyak penambahan PVA maka dapat meningkatkan derajat swelling nya, dan elastisitasnya, serta dapat menurunkan porositasnya dan massa membran.
