Hubungan Self Control dengan Kecenderungan Mengalami Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) pada Remaja Madya Pengguna Aktif Media Sosial

Fenomena Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) merupakan suatu bentuk kecemasan sosial yang membuat individu ingin terus terhubung dengan orang lain dan selalu ingin mengetahui kegiatan yang dilakukan orang lain terutama di media sosial. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor yang salah satunya yaitu self control yang kurang baik ketika memainkan media sosial. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk dapat mengetahui hubungan self control dengan Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) pada remaja madya yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Subjek yang digunakan yaitu remaja madya berdomisili di Bondowoso sebanyak 100 orang. Adapun instrument yang digunakan yaitu skala self control dan skala FoMO. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini yaitu adanya hubungan yang signifikan dan arah yang negatif antara self control dengan FoMO dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (<0,05) dan koefisien (r) -0,497 sehingga dapat dikatakan hipotesis penelitian ini diterima.

The Fear of Missing Out phenomenon (FoMO) is a form of social anxiety that makes individuals want to stay connected with others and always want to know what other people do, especially on social media. This is due to several factors, one of which is poor self-control when playing social media, this study has the aim of being able to find out the relationship of self control with Fear Of Missing out (FOMO) in middle-aged teenagers who are active in social media use. Subjects used are middle-aged teenagers residing in Bondowoso of 100 people. The results obtained in this study are that there is a significant relationship and a negative direction between self control and FoMO with a value of significance 0,000 and coefficient (r) -0,497 so it can be said that the hypothesis of this study is accepted.
