Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between fatherlessness and the perception of career success among emerging adult males. A quantitative correlational research design was employed, involving 100 male students from Universitas Negeri Surabaya aged 18–25 years who have experienced fatherlessness. The instruments used included a fatherlessness scale based on Hart’s theoretical aspects, adapted by Lailatul, and the Subjective Career Success Inventory (SCSI), developed by Shockley et al. (2016) and adapted by Ingarianti. The results showed a significant positive correlation between fatherlessness and the perception of career success (r = 0.435, p<0.001), indicating a moderate-strength relationship. These findings suggest that higher levels of fatherlessness are associated with a higher perception of career success among emerging adult males.
